Dark patterns are manipulation techniques that trick users into acting against their interests and free will. They are designed to confuse the victim and exploit their intellectual biases.
These patterns are available on various digital interfaces, including mobile apps and websites.

- Misdirection: Steering users to a predetermined outcome by redirecting their attention away from certain information or actions.
- Forced continuity: Coercing users into unwanted subscriptions by hiding the option to opt-out or making the unsubscribing process difficult.
- Hidden costs: Hiding additional fees until the last phases of a transaction.
- Sneak into the basket: Adding extra products or services into customers’ shopping carts using pre-selected checkboxes and concealed opt-in strategies.
