Definition
Script kiddie is a derogatory term for individuals who use existing scripts and tools for malicious purposes. They don’t have the technical knowledge to write their own codes or understand how hacking tools and source code work.
These cybercriminals target easy-to-exploit vulnerabilities and perform relatively simple attacks, such as password cracking or defacing websites. However, they can occasionally pose a real threat and even resort to bullying.
Hackers vs. Script Kiddie
Unlike skilled hackers who use advanced tools, script kiddies seek attention seekers by creating chaos for fun without investing time to learn or improve their skills. They’re less experienced and rely on pre-made exploits, while real hackers develop their own or customize the existing ones.
