How to Disable IPv6 on Synology

You may know that Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) isn’t compatible with IPv6 connections on a VPN, which can cause IPv6 leaks. For this reason, you should turn off the IPv6 option on Synology.

Follow these instructions to learn how you can do it:

• Proceed to Synology DSM’s Control Panel.
• Tap Network, then click Network Interface.
• Go to the LAN tab. You’ll see Edit option available at the top; click on it.

• From there, move to the IPv6 tab, and turn it Off from the IPv6 setup.
• It will ask for your confirmation; click Ok, and it’s done.

• The IPv6 option is now deactivated.
