Note:
You must disconnect the current internet connection to switch the protocols effectively on the ExtremeVPN application.
Every VPN protocol affects the stability and performance of your connection. Select the right protocol when you connect to a VPN server. ExtremeVPN recommends the protocol automatically to pick the right settings optimized for your needs. However, if the automatic protocol feature doesn’t work, you may need to try switching between different protocols manually.
Protocol Guide:
Wireguard: (Recommended)
Wireguard is best known for its security and speed and is mostly used for streaming and web browsing.
UDP:
UDP is used mainly for streaming and downloading. It offers a VPN connection with medium encryption.
TCP:
IPSec is also a viable option, but it’s slow and mostly works for web browsing.
IKEv2:
It’s one of the fastest VPN protocols that offer the most stable connection and is used for streaming and downloading.
Proxy:
Proxy also provides a faster connection, but it doesn’t encrypt data. If you only prefer speed, then you can go for it.
